"No more mixing, measuring or handling liquid or tablet chlorine! The Aqua-Rite Chlorine Generator automatically turns common salt into a self-regenerating supply of pure chlorine."

Pros: Keeps the water sparkling
Cons: Have to replace the cell every 2 years
"I absolutly love the ease of this product. The only and major draw back is the cell goes out every couple of years. Now that Hayward bought them out, hayward never honors any warrenty unless you jump through a lot of hoops. Some that cann't be jumped. I will never buy Hayward anything. I wish they could figure out the problem or make the cells cheaper because the water quality is amazing, no green hair, the water is soft. I love it."

Best thing that's happened to my pool!,

Pros: Just hook it up and walk away...worry free operation
Cons: None so far
"This salt system is absolutely the best thing I've purchased for my pool. I've tried for ten years to maintain a clear, clean chlorine pool with little success. Since installing the salt system, the only thing I do is check the filter and levels weekly and add acid if needed. The water has never been clearer. I had talked with some pool pro's prior to getting this and got mixed info from them. Some said there were no advantages to the salt system and others said they were great. It definitely cut out the need for a weekly visit from the pool service. In my opinion, there have been no disadvantages. I have an inground plaster pool that holds about 25,000 gallons, and it's been amazingly sparkling clean ever since I got this salt system."

Great System Thus Far,
November 26, 2008

Pros: No Chlorine, works well, pool looks great, Parts availability
Cons: Cost for cells, Initial cost
"I damaged every thing all over the house with chlorine. Tablets stored inside corroded pipes, ruined lathes and machinery, etc..and even went in through air-conditioner.
A friend had this system. They were happy. We bought this, installed our self, and I could not believe how much clearer the water looked. it was clear before, but wow. We did plumb it with a by-pass so we can do either chlorine or salt.
Salt is a little more maintenance if you check the chemicals the way you are supposed to...and it does require acid bi-weekly.
There is no way you can convince me it is cheaper than chlorine. But the water is clear, pool salt is easy to get, and it is easy to convert.
And the most important thing...no more chlorine tablets. Although super shock is recommended if you are out of balance...instead of super chlorinating via the system.
Also, get a big system so you run it less and cell lasts longer.
I also like the fact there are so many of these systems installed and parts are easy to get."
